Former Fox News host Maria Bartiromo has broken her silence a week after Fox announced she and the network would be parting ways after more than a decade.
“Thank you to all friends & followers for your amazing words, I am so grateful for the outpouring of love,” the longtime Fox Business and Fox News anchor wrote Thursday on X.
“I love you all. Here’s a great shot of the breaking through, I snapped the other day. More to come,” Bartiromo added, referring to a photo of a body of water.
Bartiromo did not provide any details on why she and the network parted ways. In its announcement on Sept. 3, Fox News Media said the move would be “effective today” and that she was “no longer with” the company.
“We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 ½ years and wish her all the best on her next chapter,” the company said in its statement before announcing that programs bearing Bartiromo’s name would be renamed and that new hosts would take over.
Roughly a day after the announcement, Bartiromo’s lawyer said in a statement that she was not terminated by Fox News and suggested that individuals saying otherwise could face legal action.
“The irresponsible reports that have been published stating that Maria Bartiromo was fired or is no longer an employee of Fox are absolutely and unequivocally false,” a spokesperson for attorney Bryan Freedman, Bartiromo’s attorney, said in an emailed statement to The Epoch Times on Sept. 4.
Suggesting that media outlets or social media influencers who make claims she was fired be brought to court, Freedman added, “Make no mistake, we have the receipts and witnesses, and they will come out whether through the courthouse or otherwise.”
“Those reporting her firing or the incredulous facts supporting that fiction have exhibited a complete and utter reckless disregard for the truth,” his statement said.
Fox News’s decision drew a response from President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance last week, who both praised Bartiromo.
Calling Bartiromo a “true warrior” and “total professional” in a Sept. 3 post on Truth Social, Trump said her fans will not be happy with the development.
Vance also commented on the Fox announcement during White House press conference, appearing to shut down rumors that the former TV host could replace White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt after she departed the Trump administration last month.
“No, I don’t think so,” Vance said in response to the suggestion.
Bartiromo was hired by Fox in 2014 after working for decades at CNBC as a Wall Street reporter. She hosted three programs on Fox News and Fox Business, including “Mornings with Maria,” “Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street,” and “Sunday Morning Futures.”
Top White House trade adviser Peter Navarro told Newsmax this week that the White House had communicated with Fox News’s leadership about the decision to part ways with Bartiromo.
“Suffice it to say that Suzanne Scott got a call, and basically the White House let her know that that kind of thing is totally unacceptable,” Navarro said, referring to the Fox News CEO.
Fox News did not immediately respond to a request for comment Friday.
