Canadian superstar Céline Dion took a tumble on stage during the latest show of her comeback residency in Paris but barely missed a note despite the mishap.

A viral social media video captured the performer’s fall after seemingly snagging her trousers on her shoe heel during her Oct. 7 show.

The 58-year-old singer was bouncing on one foot while singing “Dans un autre monde” when she slipped. She broke the fall with one hand and quickly got back to her feet, mic still in hand, and gave the crowd a thumb’s up as she carried on with the song.

Dion did not appear to suffer any injuries but later in the show forgot the lyrics to one of her songs and asked the audience to sing “Pour que tu m’aimes encore” with her.

She apologized and thanked the audience in French afterward, saying their help made her “heart swell” and touched her “so deeply.”

The French-Canadian singer is currently half way through a limited five-week residency at Plenitude Arena signalling her comeback to performing live after being diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome.

Her residency at the arena just outside Paris began on Sept. 12, marking the first time she has performed a series of shows since December 2022 when she revealed her diagnosis. Her current set ends on Oct. 17 and will resume next May for 10 shows.

Stiff-person syndrome is a rare autoimmune neurological disorder that causes muscle spasms and stiffness. There is no known cure for the disease, but medicine and therapy can help manage symptoms.

The five-time Grammy winner, from Charlemagne, Que., published a video at the time, explaining that her condition causes “difficulties when I walk” and does not allow her “to use my vocal cords to sing the way I’m used to.”

She said she was working with a sports medicine therapist to build back her strength and “ability to perform again.”

Her first live performance after her diagnosis was also in Paris, where she performed one song—“Hymne à l’amour”—from the Eiffel Tower in Paris to end the opening ceremonies of the 2024 Summer Olympics.

Dion is known for songs like the chart-topping “Titanic” theme “My Heart Will Go On” and “Because You Loved Me,” a Grammy-winning and chart-topping ballad written by Diane Warren for the 1996 film “Up Close & Personal.”

The Canadian songstress is one of the world’s best-selling contemporary female artists of all time, selling more than 200 million records worldwide.
