Adidas issued a mea culpa on June 7 for misspelling Colombia in advertisements showcasing the team’s new jerseys for the Copa America tournament.
“We value our partnership with the Colombian Football Federation and apologize for our mistake. We removed these graphics and are quickly installing new versions today.”
Seriously, @adidasfootball – IT’S COLOMBIA, not Columbia! Colossal mistake for such a brand. Unacceptable @adidasCO pic.twitter.com/Xvapv2i2RD

The advertisement features Colombia soccer players in white home jerseys along with the word ‘COLUMBIA’ in big white font. Adidas has provided the team’s uniforms since 2011.
Twitter users lambasted the sports designer for its flub.
@EnaOssaEs @adidasfootball @adidasCO That’s just pathetic, i’m sorry.

Is there actually no one at Adidas that knows how to spell “Colombia”? And yet they make the team’s apparel. pic.twitter.com/i0BtDWKXaU

I’ve probably spelt Colombia wrong in the past. But Adidas really should be getting it right. pic.twitter.com/2T9tefkhT9
