Armed police officers in Belgium have apprehended three suspects believed to have a hand in the terror attacks on Brussels, but more are “still at large” the Belgian Foreign Ministry said.
A dramatic stand-off in the city center ended with two men being held at gunpoint by police before being arrested, reported the Daily Mail.
The apprehensions took place just one mile from the Maelbeek subway station, where multiple bombs were detonated on Tuesday.
The attacks there came a short time after multiple explosions at the city’s airport.
Combined, the explosions have killed at least 34 people and wounded dozens of others.
A third suspect was arrested on a train near Amsterdam.

“Police and special forces are looking for known members of any terror cell who may be planning more attacks. They will also round up anyone who may pose a threat to the public, or acting suspiciously, in an attempt to foil any more attacks,” the Mail said.
Belgian police are circulating a photo of a man they wish to question about the attack on the Zaventem airport.

The photo shows the man dressed in white, on the right. He’s thought to have some link to the explosions at the airport. The other men were later identified as likely suicide bombers.
No definite number of suspects has been given, but the manhunt has expanded across Europe with other countries pledging their assistance.

An Iraqi intelligence official said the attacks were not originally planned for Brussels but were switched there after the arrest of Salah Abdeslam, believed to be the top man behind the Paris terror attacks late last year.
Among the partners in the hunt for suspects are the CIA and MI5.
