
As an answer to Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson’s question of whether he would get his work aired on Glee, Joel said, “I already have.”
“All I know is I said, ‘Yeah! Go ahead. Use my stuff, I was in a chorus when I was in high school, why not?”
In the last season of the show, Matthew Morrison and Neil Patrick Harris gave a duet performance of the pianist’s signature hit “Piano Man.”
But Joel said he will not appear personally on the show.
“I’m just not a big TV actor type of guy," he said. "I’m a piano player."
Born in New York City in 1949, the six-time Grammy Award winner scored numerous hits such as “Uptown Girl,” “52nd Street,” and "New York State of Mind."
