Glittery platform wedge sandals of epic proportions made an eye catching statement at Christian Dior’s Fall Haute Couture Show at Paris’ Musée Rodin.

The models in Dior’s show on Monday, July 6 wore several slightly different versions and colors of the strappy sandals. The shoes are the work of Dior’s footwear designer Francesco Russo, and look comfortable enough for all day wear.

The suede and calfskin embroidered sandals with sequins and nude patent straps come with a 1.5 inch or 1 3/4 inch platform, and a 3 inch or 5 inch heel.

The original inspiration for his fall collection came from the Flemish Masters.

Artistic Director Raf Simons said the original inspiration for his fall collection came from the Flemish Masters and their approach to painting. “It’s the tension between decrying luxury and the embracing of it; the mastery of craft and the beauty of artistic gesture; the reality and the unreality: you can’t have one without the other,” he said in a statement.

Simons’ ready-to-wear fall pieces were also complimented by a minimal makeup look, and wavy, natural looking hair.
