TAINAN, Taiwan—Deputy Mayor of Tainan City, Yen Chun-tso, attended Shen Yun Performing Arts Touring Company at the Tainan Municipal Cultural Center in Taiwan on March 15.
Having seen Shen Yun three times, Mr. Yen said: “I am moved by the different aspects every time I see Shen Yun. It’s not only beautiful in dance, but with the music, costumes, lighting, and all the different elements, it is really superb. The designs and colors of the costumes, [the coordination of] the music and the movements, combined with the high-tech, made the show look real and lifelike.”
Mr. Yen thought that the impregnable strength of the unity presented by the show was astounding. “In addition to the inner meaning of the stories represented in the programs, whether individual performers, or the overall presentation, it makes the show excellent and outstanding,” he said.
“They must have coordinated for a long time to reach such an artistic achievement. Thus, what the show represents is the spirit of impregnable teamwork.”
While many audience members think the dance performers’ skills, uniformity, and discipline are incredible, Mr. Yen indicated that the spirit unfolded by Shen Yun comes from the performers’ high moral standards and from the strength of their concern for society. “Whether self-possession or cultivation practice, the artists must have high morality to achieve such a magnificent performance.
“What they have is the inner force toward the art company and the world, so they can make such a wonderful performance.”
In conclusion, he said that all the stories chosen for the programs have the effect of cleansing and purifying society and the world. “The programs, such as the emperors and deities descending to the world, can purify people’s hearts. It’s really great.
“I’ve seen it three times, and I’ll continue inviting people to see the performance because I’m always touched after seeing the show.”
