The London Victoria Station was evacuated on Friday after the an unexploded World War II-era bomb was discovered.

The bomb sparked the mass evacuation of the metro station.

Armed police were deployed to the scene during rush hour as thousands of commuters were ordered out of the Tube and other rail stations.

“I came in on Southeastern railway, I got into the station fine but there were announcements saying the Tube was closed because of a security alert,” commuter Emma Pritchard told the Metro. “It was pretty calm, just very busy and people trying to find buses etc.”

The Metropolitan Police ordered everyone out of the station due to the “unexploded device.”

The station was reopened after 10 a.m. local time.

A spokesperson told The Telegraph that train services were unaffected. Later, it was confirmed Tube services had resumed as usual.
