Pegman, the unofficial mascot of Google Maps, is getting a much-deserved vacation today, and the next five days. In his place is an iconic video game character who knows a bit about maps himself. Link is now in Google Maps to help you find your way, because as we all know, it’s dangerous to go alone. If you head to Google Maps on the web, you’ll see that the Pegman icon in the lower right corner has been replaced with everyone’s sword-wielding elf in his standard green tunic.
