TAICHUNG, Taiwan—In the evening of March 7, two women happened to run into each other at Shen Yun Performing Arts’ performance in Chung Shan Hall in Taichung. Both of them were from Taiwan but now lived in China because their husbands owned businesses there. They therefore knew each other through business.
Ms. You mentioned that she has watched Shen Yun for the past four years and more than a hundred of her friends have seen Shen Yun because of her recommendation, including Ms. Chen. They did not come together but sat in the same row.
Ms. You explained why she loved Shen Yun so much, “It’s not an ordinary performance. Each time I watch it, I feel strong energy coming down from my head to my back, extremely comfortable.”
Ms. Chen nodded her head and spoke of her experience, “I could smell the aroma of flowers or sandalwood after each program. This morning I wasn’t feeling well, and my son, who was going to come to the show with me, had a cold. We eventually still decided to come to watch Shen Yun. I was feeling very ill and tired before I entered the theater. After being here, I do not feel ill anymore, instead, I am relaxed and energized. I do not want to miss any of it.”
Ms. Chen was a Buddhist. She was most impressed with the dance Divine Mercy. “I felt that everyone must be kind and should never betray their conscience.”
Ms. Chen described how she felt being surrounded by energy when she watched the performance, “It was very strong and I felt very warm. I felt really cold outside and did not feel well. I had my big coat on. After I watched Shen Yun, I felt very comfortable and warm.”
