A female teenager died after she was ejected from a spinning carnival ride in El Paso, Texas, police confirmed.

Another teenager was injured after she was ejected from the same “Sizzler” ride at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, and had to be rushed to the hospital.

A third teenager was treated at the scene, but did not have injuries.

Carnival rides are regulated by the state and are subject to inspection, the police said.

The teenagers were women between the ages of 15 and 18.

The cause of the accident has yet to be determined, but is undergoing an investigation.
