Trump Orders DEI Staff Be Placed on Leave; $500 Billion in Private Investments Announced for AI

The Trump administration is dismantling federal diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs and directing all DEI staff to be placed on paid leave before they eventually face layoffs. Federal agencies must remove DEI webpages, cancel training, and report renamed programs within 10 days. President Donald Trump says the goal is a merit-based, colorblind society. Trump is also targeting DEI programs at the Federal Aviation Administration, saying they pose a risk to public safety.

Trump has announced a $500 billion private investment into America’s AI infrastructure. CEOs from Open AI, SoftBank, and Oracle were at the announcement and are teaming up to build new data centers in the United States. Trump said one of the biggest reasons for the effort is to counter China, which is also pouring money into AI development.

Trump has also declared an emergency at the southern border, paving the way for military deployment to the area and the completion of the border wall. Migrants seeking asylum will no longer be able to live and work in the United States while waiting for their asylum cases to be heard. NTD spoke with Rick de la Torre, a former senior operations officer at the CIA, to discuss the national security concerns America is facing right now.
