President Donald Trump signaled a major shift in stance on the Russia–Ukraine war on Tuesday, saying he believes that Ukraine can win back all of the territory lost to Russia. Trump said that he’s changing his mind after coming to fully understand the economic and military situation of both Russia and Ukraine. He says that Russia and Putin are in “big economic trouble,” and that it’s time for Ukraine to act now.

Jimmy Kimmel returned to late-night television on Tuesday night. Kimmel addressed the recent controversy by denying any intent to politicize the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Trump criticized ABC’s decision to let the show return. Kimmel responded to Trump’s criticism, saying the president’s attitude toward him and other late-night television hosts is un-American. Meanwhile, major broadcasters such as Nexstar and Sinclair are still keeping “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” off the air.

Ryan Routh, who was accused of trying to assassinate Trump in 2024, was found guilty on Tuesday of all five charges against him, including the attempted assassination of a major presidential candidate, assaulting a federal officer, and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number. After the verdict was read, Routh attempted to stab himself with a pen before being restrained by court officers. Routh’s sentencing is set for Dec. 18.
