Trump: Objectives in Iran Nearing Completion; Supreme Court Hears Citizenship Arguments | NTD Good Morning (April 2)

In a primetime address on April 1, President Trump said the United States is nearing the end of its military operation in Iran. Since the operation began, U.S. forces have targeted Iran’s military infrastructure, including vessels, missile systems, and proxy networks. The campaign is also focused on preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. Trump reiterated that Operation Epic Fury will continue until all objectives are fully achieved.

The Supreme Court heard oral arguments on Wednesday about Trump’s executive order to restrict birthright citizenship. The president sat in the courtroom, the first time a sitting U.S. president has attended Supreme Court oral arguments. The justices questioned the government’s argument in favor of upholding the executive order, suggesting it may be difficult to interpret and enforce. They are expected to make a ruling by the end of June.

Four astronauts embarked on a flight around the moon on Wednesday when Artemis II launched from Kennedy Space Center. It is the first crewed lunar voyage in more than 50 years.

Carrying three Americans and one Canadian, the 32-story rocket rose from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, where tens of thousands gathered to witness the spectacle. The astronauts stand to become the most distant humans ever when their capsule zooms past the moon, then continues another 4,000 miles beyond, before making a U-turn and tearing straight home for a splashdown in the Pacific.
