Pentagon Removes B-1 Bombers from UK Base; Trump Rallies Ohio Republicans Ahead of Midterms | NTD Good Morning (Oct. 5)

The Pentagon pulled all of its B-1 bombers from a UK military base after a suspected Iranian terrorist plot was reported by the British government earlier in the week. The dozen bombers had been used in U.S. strikes on Iran. The Pentagon did not say why it withdrew them, but British counterterrorism police were alerted last week to three vans headed toward the base. Police arrested five men and released them on bail. Police did not find any bombs, but did find flammable material.

President Donald Trump rallied his voter base in Ohio on Saturday, as he presses ahead with his midterm campaign push. The president is calling the elections critical and saying the stakes have never been higher. Trump’s rally was intended to boost gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy and Sen. Jon Husted (R-Ohio), both of whom face tight races against Democrats, according to recent polling.

The FBI arrested a Californian woman at Los Angeles International Airport on Sunday on suspicion of acting as an unregistered agent for the Chinese communist regime and surveilling a close relative of a Taiwanese government official, officials said. “Heather” Zhang Wanying, 34, who lives in Irvine, Orange County, was taken into custody by FBI Los Angeles when she attempted to leave the United States for China, according to First Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California Bilal Essayli. Zhang is scheduled to appear in a Los Angeles court today.
