Trump rallies in Texas, Oklahoma; State Department Revokes 250,000 Visas | NTD Good Morning (Oct. 2)
President Donald Trump began a 32-day campaign blitz on Thursday with stops in Texas and Oklahoma, aiming to bolster Republican candidates as his party fights to hold onto its congressional majorities in November’s midterm elections.
The State Department announced that over 250,000 visas have been revoked since January 2025. State Department Spokesperson Tommy Pigott says the most common reason for revoking a visa is criminal activity like DUIs, assaults, and theft. Pigott says they’ve also been cracking down on birth tourism and birth tourism networks. The State Department has also stripped legal status from foreign nationals working on behalf of hostile regimes or who are suspected of hostile intent.
Trade Representative Jamieson Greer says G20 trade ministers failed to reach an agreement on unethical labor in supply chains. The United States in July imposed tariffs ranging from 10 percent to 12.5 percent on 60 trading partners over their alleged failure to prevent imports made with forced labor. Speaking to reporters after a two-day trade ministerial meeting in Milwaukee, Greer said some ministers had also raised concerns about excess industrial capacity, potentially putting downward pressure on product prices, but failed to agree on how to address it.
