Katie Zacharia Holds Debut Press Briefing; JD Vance Campaigns in Texas | NTD Good Morning (Oct. 13)
White House press secretary Katie Zacharia will face reporters for the first time on Tuesday since taking over the role from Karoline Leavitt, who left earlier this year.
Zacharia was a conservative commentator and a former communications adviser for Trump Media. Her debut comes just weeks before the midterm elections.
Vice President JD Vance and House Speaker Mike Johnson are both expected to visit Texas on Tuesday, as the state has become a focal point of the midterms. Vance will be in Tyler, Texas, to campaign for Republican U.S. Senate candidate Ken Paxton. This is the second time in the past two weeks the vice president has visited the state.
President Donald Trump was in Youngstown, Ohio, on Monday, rallying for Sen. Jon Husted and gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.
The president announced a plan to keep a struggling local energy provider operating, as colder weather approaches. He also celebrated the Department of War’s choice of Ohio for a 46,000-square-foot submarine parts factory.
