Trump Responds to Maria Bartiromo Leaving Fox

President Donald Trump on Thursday responded to Fox News Media’s announcement that it parted ways with host Maria Bartiromo.

Fox, in an Aug. 3 statement, confirmed that Bartiromo’s 12-year-long tenure with the company is over, effective immediately. The company did not explain why she was let go, and the host has not issued a statement.

“I can’t believe Maria Bartiromo is no longer going to have her great show(s) on FoxNews/Business,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social. “Three different shows, always number one. Maria is a total professional, and a true warrior. Her fans, of which there are many, will not be happy.”

Fox News thanked the host for her work in a short statement.

Her dismissal was one of the company’s most significant talent departures since former Fox News host Tucker Carlson left the network in 2023. Six years before that, it cut ties with former top host Bill O’Reilly.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday in the White House, Vice President JD Vance answered a question about whether Bartiromo would be tapped to become the Trump administration’s press secretary after Karoline Leavitt’s departure last month.

“I don’t know, man,” Vance said, laughing. “No, I don’t think so.”

Filling in as the White House’s press secretary on Thursday, Vance added, “I just saw the news literally as I walked out the door. I love Maria. I think she’s an amazing person, an amazing talent. I don’t get involved in the personal drama of media stations.”

Underscoring her close relationship with the administration, Vance added that “whatever she does, she’s going to do great. And I wish her all the best. She’s a very, very dear friend.”

Vance said he had not spoken with the host since her departure and doesn’t know why she left.

Her final Fox Business show, “Mornings with Maria,” was held on Sept. 3. The show will now transition to a new program, “Mornings with FOX Business,” with rotating hosts, the company said in its statement.

Bartiromo’s “Sunday Morning Futures” program on the network will now be hosted by Jason Chaffetz, a former Republican congressman who later was hired as a Fox News host, the company said.

Another one of her shows, “Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street,” will be rebranded as “FBN’s Wall Street,” Fox News Media said. Cheryl Casone will host the Sept. 4 episode, and rotating anchors will follow.

A new weekday programming schedule will be provided in the coming weeks, Fox said.

Bartiromo’s biography page and “Mornings With Maria” page appeared to have been deleted from Fox Business’s website.

A representative for Bartiromo did not respond to an Epoch Times request for comment on Thursday.
