President Donald Trump is scheduled to undergo his annual dental and medical evaluations on May 26 at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Maryland, the White House said on May 11.

The White House said the upcoming dental and medical checkups are part of the president’s “regular preventive health care,” adding that he is expected to meet with service members during the visit.

“The president will also spend time with service members and staff at Walter Reed in recognition of their service, professionalism, and dedication to the nation,” it said in a statement to the media.

Trump’s health has drawn public scrutiny after photos emerged last year showing the 79-year-old president with swollen ankles and bruising on his hands.

In January, Trump said his high aspirin intake had made him prone to bruising.

During a May 11 press conference at the Oval Office, Trump said he feels no different than he did 50 years ago.

“I feel the same as I did 50 years ago,” he told reporters. “I feel literally the same, I don’t know why. It’s not because I eat the best foods. Maybe though they are the best foods. Who knows what the best foods are?”

In October 2025, Trump underwent a medical evaluation at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center that the White House said was part of his “routine yearly checkup.”

His medical evaluation involved advanced imaging, laboratory testing, and preventive health assessments designed to ensure the president’s optimal cardiovascular health.

After the medical checkup, White House physician Dr. Sean Barbabella said in an Oct. 10, 2025, memo that Trump remains in “exceptional health, exhibiting strong cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological, and physical performance.”

Barbabella said the president’s cardiac age is “approximately 14 years younger than his chronological age” and that he could continue to carry out his demanding daily schedule without restriction.

In December 2025, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said that advanced imaging results from Trump’s October 2025 medical evaluation at Walter Reed showed his cardiovascular imaging was “perfectly normal.”

“Overall, his cardiovascular system shows excellent health. His abdominal imaging is also perfectly normal. All major organs appear very healthy and well perfused. Everything evaluated is functioning within normal limits, with no acute or chronic concerns,” Leavitt said during a Dec. 1, 2025, press conference.

In July 2025, the White House issued a memorandum after photos surfaced showing Trump with minor bruising on the back of his hand. The memo states that the bruising resulted from soft tissue irritation caused by frequent handshaking and aspirin use.

Trump also reported experiencing “mild swelling in his lower legs” at the time, which was evaluated by the White House Medical Unit, according to the memo.

The condition was later identified as a result of chronic venous insufficiency, which the doctor described as “a benign and common condition” among individuals over the age of 70.
