Boxing star Adrien Broner turned himself into authorities in Ohio April 4 morning after allegedly beating and robbing a man of $12,000 outside a bowling alley with a gun. Broner, who allegedly lost the money to the victim during a night of high-stakes betting on bowling games, knocked the man unconscious and took the money back.
The former four-division world title-holder was wanted on two warrants for his arrest on charges of felony assault and aggravated robbery relating to the Jan. 21 incident. He was released after posting bail of $100,000.

According to ESPN, Julie Wilson—chief assistant prosecutor and public information officer for the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office—Broner is scheduled for an Tuesday, April 5 morning arraignment at the Hamilton County Justice Center in Cincinnati, where he’ll be asked to enter a plea.

Broner, 26, the prior Friday night knocked out England’s Ashley Theophane in the ninth round in the main event of a Premier Boxing Champions card at the DC Armory in Washington, D.C., to move his record to 32–2, with 24 KOs.
The bout was actually supposed to be a defense of his junior welterweight world title, but Broner weighed in at 140.4 pounds—0.4 pounds over the division limit—and didn’t lose the small amount of weight. Instead he paid Theophane an extra $50,000 for the fight to go on.

The bout nearly didn’t happen in the first place as the DC Boxing and Wrestling Commission wouldn’t license Broner until they received written documents from his attorney and Hamilton County officials that he would turn himself in after the fight.
