Detroit’s Andre Drummond did something unusual in a 114–101 win over Toronto on Feb. 28 that won’t show up in the stat sheet. On a night where the Pistons center scored 15 points and grabbed 18 rebounds, it was his reaching out to a young fan to literally put him on the team’s bench at the end of the game that had social media abuzz.

On the court, the 6-foot-11, 279-pound Drummond, recorded his 25th game this season with at least 15 points and 15 rebounds. No other player has more than eight.
The former UConn star has also put up a double-double in 13 straight games this season—the longest streak by any such player this season. Still, the kindness he showed to a young fan has overshadowed anything the All-Star player has done on the court this season.
