KAOHSIUNG, Taiwan—On March 5, the last day of Shen Yun Performing Arts’ tour in Kaohsiung, Mr. Chang Yu-Tang enjoyed a visual and audio feast that was beyond time and space.
Mr. Chang is a Business Director of the American International Assurance Company (AIA) Taiwan. A friend introduced him to the New York-based Shen Yun and he saw the final performance in town. He was very impressed that each program contained classic connotation of Chinese culture. “It’s terrific that such a marvelous performance can come to Taiwan. I will be back next year if possible. The entire show, including the costumes and the artists’ lively facial expressions and body movements, definitely surpasses the international standard!” said Mr. Chang.
Mr. Chang was positively inspired after watching the performance. “If you have a belief and you can hold on to your belief in everything you do, it is less likely you will be beaten by frustrations and rumors.”
Mr. Chang was very proud of the Chinese culture demonstrated by Shen Yun. “The dancing exhibits the softness and gracefulness of Chinese culture. It inherits the 5,000 years of culture in every movement and every program. No wonder the Chinese culture can be spread worldwide.”
Mr. Chang was particularly taken by the program When Shaolin Monks Protected the Emperor. “Though the monks were playful young men who chased the little rabbits for fun, they came forward when they were needed. This is the kind of spirit and conduct the young people nowadays should have,” Mr. Chang said.
