KAOHSIUNG, Taiwan—With a vocal talent that made her debut as a singer in pubs with her sister Peng Chia-Hui, Peng Chia-Ni is now a famous hostess of a music program on the Hakka radio. Peng Chia-Ni attended Shen Yun Performing Arts Touring Company’s 2013 first performance at Kaohsiung Municipal Cultural Center on the evening of the national holiday, Feb. 28.
Peng Chia-Ni said: “Shen Yun hit my heart! I was touched with all my heart. I remained right at that moment even to the present. That kind of stimulation is hard to explain!”
“When I first saw the animated backdrop, I wondered how the people on the top represented, especially the last scene when Buddha showed! … Wow! That kind of shaking power in my heart, indeed, I am not able to describe with words.”
“I am touched. Shen Yun combined visual and euphonious senses. It is excellent in every part, such as costumes and music. The costumes for every scene and every program coordinated nicely with the story to be displayed, and they are so beautiful.”
As a hostess of a music program, Peng Chia-Ni especially paid attention to the orchestra: “Particularly the live music which combined Chinese and Western musical instruments. Whether it was the Chinese zither, erhu, or obes, trumpet and so on, it was really very fantastic.”
She highly praised Shen Yun’s vocal music and lyrics: “The audience comprehended the words easily. Every tenor, soprano, baritone sung very well. I was listening to their songs with my eyes closed. I felt that it was perfect to spread Falun Dafa in their voice.”
Peng Chia-Ni clearly described how Shen Yun’s divine music hit her heart: “I was moved with my whole body stimulated. Through the performance of these artists, the whole world would know how good Falun Dafa is!”
Also, as an actress of theater, Peng Chia-Hui excitedly said: “Since I am an actress of theater, I apprehended what the dancers wanted to express in the dancing, and the strength and sense of beauty as well. Every Shen Yun artist was great. I have learned a lot from them, and I did attend a very nice class!”
In conclusion, Peng Chia-Ni appreciated Shen Yun’s mission of reviving a divine culture, and its concentration on education by artistic performance. “We studied history since childhood, but just could not memorize history no matter how hard we tried. However, I easily understood the history represented by Shen Yun rather than memorizing text books. Through an artistic form to tell the people of the world the stories of China’s 5,000-year culture, I believe people will soon comprehend.”
“This is an excellent visual and euphonic feast. I will tell all my good friends to enjoy Shen Yun every year.”
