Jay Carney, the White House Press Secretary, will be stepping down from his position.

Josh Earnest was named by President Barack Obama as the new Press Secretary, according to ABC’s Twitter feed.

Carney, 49, is the 29th Press Secretary for the White House. He’s the second person to serve in the position for Obama.

Prior to the job, he was the director of communications for Vice President Joe Biden.

Before that, he was the Time magazine Washington Bureau Chief from September 2005 until December 2008.

And he was also a regular contributor on ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos.”
