The New York Jets (8-6) gave up four touchdowns on three turnovers in the game’s first 21 minutes and never recovered as the Philadelphia Eagles (6-8) pasted them 45 – 19 Sunday afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

New York’s top receiver Santonio Holmes had a day to forget as his opening drive fumble was run in for a score by defensive end Juqua Parker. Later in the quarter, after the Eagles fumbled away a punt to the Jets, a pass intended for Holmes went through his hands and was intercepted by Asante Samuel.

Making matters worse, when Holmes hauled in a score to pull the Jets within 28 – 10, he was whistled for unsportsmanlike conduct—a 15-yard penalty.

Despite the Eagles equaling the Jets’ with four turnovers, New York did very little with the ball. Philadelphia defensive end Jason Babin sacked quarterback Mark Sanchez three times.
