England’s Prince Phillip, husband to Queen Elizabeth II, was hospitalized over the weekend for emergency treatment for a blocked coronary artery, reports said.

The 90-year-old Duke of Edinburgh is “getting much better” and is in “good spirits” following the scare, members of the family told The Telegraph on Sunday.

Prince Harry and Prince William both drove to visit their grandfather in separate cars. They traveled from Sandringham, which is the Queen’s massive estate where the family gathered to celebrate Christmas. Philip was forced to miss the family’s celebrations and the customary church service.

Outside of St. Mary Magdalene church where the royal family attended, approximately 3,000 people gathered, reported The Guardian.

Mary Relph, 77, and a longtime royal family watcher, told the newspaper that the crowd of hundreds lined up at the gates of Sandringham was almost unprecedented.

“I have never seen queues like this on Christmas Day before. I have never seen this amount of people here since Diana was alive,” she said, according to the Guardian.
