Motorola Inc. and Blackberry maker Research In Motion Ltd. (RIM) have settled a lawsuit between the two companies involving patents around certain 3G, 4G, wireless e-mail, and Wi-Fi technologies, the companies said in a statement. The companies will give each other certain patents, and Motorola will receive a one-time payment and certain royalties from RIM, the statement from the companies said. The exact technologies under dispute were not publicized.
