The phone will run on Blackberry 6, RIM’s latest operating system. RIM will also install the operating system on certain older Blackberry models, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.
The Torch will have 512 megabytes of memory, a sliding QWERTY keyboard, and the ability to sync music and other media with PCs over wireless internet networks.
The phone’s other features include a 5-megapixel camera, a 3.2-inch touch screen, a card reader, Bluetooth capabilities, and 4 gigabytes of flash memory, according to Blackberry’s website.
The Torch will only be available to AT&T customers and will cost $199 for customers who sign a new two-year contract, according to the AT&T’s website.
