Tim Tebow hit Demaryius Thomas for an 80-yard touchdown catch in overtime to lead the Denver Broncos past the favored-Steelers 29–23 in the opening round of the playoffs Sunday.

The Steelers, with a total of 272 postseason games’ experience on their roster were the most seasoned of any of the playoff teams, yet they struggled in Denver from the beginning, before making a valiant comeback effort.

Denver’s offense, which was shut out for the first quarter, scored 20 second-quarter points to take a 20–6 lead into halftime.

The Steelers finally found the end zone in the third quarter and again in the fourth when Ben Roethlisberger hit Jericho Cotchery for a 31-yard score to tie the game and send it into overtime.

Tim Tebow hit Thomas on the first play of overtime for the game-winning score.
