LSU will play without star cornerback Tyrann Mathieu and leading rusher Spencer Ware in their Saturday contest against Auburn, according to the LSU student newspaper The Daily Reveille.

LSU has not issued a statement on the length of the suspension, and coach Les Miles did not address the situation at his press conference on Wednesday.

So far this season Mathieu, a sophomore, has accumulated 42 tackles, 4 forced fumbles, 3 of which he recovered and 2 he returned for touchdowns. He also has two interceptions to go along with one-and-a-half sacks.

Ware, also a sophomore has rushed for 512 yards and 6 touchdowns.

The No. 1 ranked Tigers will also be without defensive back Tharold Simon.
