The victim in the UCLA shooting has been identified as William Klug of the university’s Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.

Klug received his PhD from Caltech in 2003.

The student had apparently shot Klug over a grade dispute, sources told KNX.

Classes for the spring quarter were ending this week, and many students were taking their finals on Wednesday, June 1.

The shooter, who hasn’t been identified yet, turned the gun on himself after shooting his professor.

The UCLA campus was put on lockdown and Wednesday classes were canceled as a result of the shootings.
