A sea lion pup was discovered in an unlikely spot, looking for food.

The sickly pup apparently wandered into a restaurant, The Marine Room, in La Jolla, California, this week. A video of the encounter was posted online.

“We found this little guy in The Marine Room restaurant this morning,” Bernard Guillas, the executive chef, wrote on Facebook. “He was a little bit early for his high tide breakfast reservation.”

A staff member said the sea mammal was sleeping and started waddling around the restaurant.

“I got to tell you when you see a little pup like this, it touches your heart. It’s such a cute little thing,” Guillas told FoxNews.com. “It looked good to me. It was alert. Then they gave me the news, very much underweight. Ouch. I guess they need to be nice and chubby.”

Guillas said that one sea lion stood at his front door, but “never made it inside.”

The restaurant staff called the Sea World San Diego rescue team, which took the sea lion to a rescue center.
