Award-winning actor Ben Stiller will chronicle the extraordinary lives and careers of his late parents, comedians Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara, in a new Apple documentary, scheduled to hit select theaters this fall.

The “Zoolander” star directed the forthcoming film, “Stiller & Meara: Nothing is Lost,” which Apple Original Films unveiled in a press release on Wednesday.

“Ben Stiller tells the story of his parents, comedy icons Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara, exploring their impact on both popular culture and at home, where the lines between creativity, family, life, and art often blurred,” the logline reads.

“In the process, Stiller turns the camera on himself and his family to examine Jerry and Anne’s enormous influence on their lives, and the generational lessons that we can all learn from those we love.”

After marrying in 1954, the couple welcomed their first child, actress Amy Stiller, in 1961. Their son arrived four years later.

The husband-and-wife comedy duo rose to fame in the 1960s, showcasing their comedic wit and chemistry on a variety of television programs, including “The Ed Sullivan Show,” “The Merv Griffin Show,” and “What’s My Line?”

Jerry Stiller and Meara eventually went on to pursue individual acting careers.

Jerry Stiller was a mainstay on “Seinfeld” and “The King of Queens” and starred in films such as “The Taking of Pelham One Two Three” (1974), “Hot Pursuit” (1987), and “Hairspray” (1988). Meara is known for her roles in “Awakenings” (1990), “Heavyweights” (1995), and “The Daytrippers” (1996).

The couple were married for 61 years until Meara died in 2015. She was 85. Jerry Stiller passed away five years later at the age of 92.

In a statement, Ben Stiller—who served as a director and executive producer on the Apple TV+ sci-fi thriller series “Severance”—said he was looking forward to sharing his parents’ story on the big screen.

“I feel very fortunate to be partnering once again with the incredible team at Apple TV+, this time on a project that is very personal to me and my family,” the 59-year-old multihyphenate said. “It’s exciting to finally get to share it with audiences; and a great honor to celebrate my parents, both as I knew them growing up, and as I’ve come to know them in new ways through the making of this film.”

Following its Oct. 17 theatrical debut, “Stiller & Meara: Nothing is Lost” will stream on Apple TV+ on Oct. 24.
