The Nashville-based conservative media platform The Daily Wire is making its own film adaptation of “Snow White,” the Brothers Grimm fairytale, in a rebuke of the upcoming Disney remake of the 1937 classic film, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.”
The Daily Wire’s adaptation, “Snow White and the Evil Queen,” will be released on its newly launched children’s streaming platform, Bentkey, in 2024.
Snow White will be played by Brett Cooper, who hosts “The Comments Section” on The Daily Wire.
Jeremy Boreing, who co-founded The Daily Wire with political commentator Ben Shapiro, announced his reasons for creating Bentkey and the new movie, stating that Disney has increasingly degraded itself by promoting far-left, progressive content for children.
“It’s been just one year since Disney, the most powerful entertainment company in the world, was caught saying the quiet part out loud, namely that they were using their brand—a brand parents had been trusting with their children for generations—to indoctrinate those children into the LGBTQIA cult,” Mr. Boreing said in the announcement.
Mr. Boreing was referencing the leaked video released by Christopher Rufo of the Manhattan Institute showing a Disney executive—who said she had a transgender child and a pansexual child—discussing how she planned to weave more LGBT themes into Disney’s content.
“And it’s not just the queerness Disney is promoting,” Mr. Boreing said. “In the show ‘The Proud Family,’ Disney stirs racial division with songs like ‘Slaves Built This Country,’ where kids rap about descendants of slaves earning reparations for every minute they spend submerged in ‘systemic prejudice, racism and white supremacy.'”
He called this shift a huge loss for those “who believe in basic reality.”
“Disney controls the greatest content library ever created,” he said. “Their cultural reach, particularly with children, is beyond anything that’s ever existed.”

‘A Social Experiment’
On Oct. 16, the 100th anniversary of when Walt Disney founded his company, Mr. Boreing introduced the release of Bentkey, a streaming platform that has content for children that isn’t about politics but about “childhood and wonder and adventure.”
“It’s about values and all of the things on which politics are built later,” he said.
Disney has begun participating in a social experiment that has taken place on children, he said in an interview with Jordan Peterson, by indoctrinating them with political content that is denying them of their childhoods.
“We instead are using them as social experiments to see if it’s possible to inculcate into them a set of almost anti-value values,” he said. “I say anti-value because they are not anything that would have historically been considered values and they in many ways oppose the values on which civilization thus far has been built.”
‘Kids Deserve a Childhood’
Mr. Boreing addressed the controversy surrounding Disney’s own “Snow White” remake now in production.
Rachel Zegler, the actress playing Snow White in the Disney remake, said the film will have “a modern edge” because Snow White won’t be saved by the prince or dreaming of true love, but instead focus on becoming a leader.
Disney has faced criticism for its deconstruction of former stories and rewriting them with progressive themes.
David Hand, whose father of the same name directed the original 1937 Snow White, called the new adaptation “insulting.”
“It’s a whole different concept, and I just totally disagree with it, and I know my dad and Walt would also very much disagree with it,” Mr. Hand said.
Mr. Boreing said that although Disney retains Walt’s name, his legacy has been abandoned.
“Instead of telling stories about timeless truth, what the ancient fairy tales were all about, Disney’s new ‘Snow White’ is an apology for their past and will expose children to the popular but destructive lies of the current moment,” he said.
With the left’s insistence that politics must be infused into children’s content, Mr. Boreing told Mr. Peterson that although the launch of Bentkey and the new adaptation of Snow White is an inherently political act, the material itself is free of political messaging.
“Kids deserve a childhood,” Mr. Boreing said.
The Epoch Times has contacted Disney for comment.
‘They Have a Responsibility’
Drawing talent such as animators hasn’t been hard because there are many disaffected employees in children’s entertainment who disagree with the direction their companies are going, he said.
Putting transgender ideologies in shows geared for 7-year-olds has put many people who work for companies like Disney in a difficult position, he said.
“People who are drawn to kids entertainment in particular are people who love kids,” he said. “They love the innocence of children, the youth of children. They have a responsibility.”
He called many of the people who work at Disney “a special breed” who are creative and “full of love.”
“They’re incredible artists in every sense of the word and they feel deeply responsible for the content they create,” he said.
This conflict has made it easy for some to jump ship and sign on with Bentkey, he said, where they won’t have to go along with pushing progressive agendas on children.
“What they’re being asked to do in their daily lives is evil, and they don’t want to participate in evil,” Mr. Boreing said.
