Country singer Jason Aldean is raising awareness for dementia with his latest song, “Help You Remember.”
Coinciding with the release of his new single, which is featured on the upcoming album, “Songs About Us,” out April 24, the Grammy-nominated musician partnered with the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America to help raise funds for those battling the cognitive disorder.
Founded in 2002, the nonprofit organization actively supports patients and caregivers affected by Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia and also works to fund research for more advanced treatments as well as a cure for the disease.
“Inspired by his personal experience having family members going through dementia, Aldean’s new track ‘Help You Remember’ also shines a spotlight on the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America and their mission that you don’t have to go through this alone,” the charity wrote in a Nov. 7 Facebook post.
A portion of the track’s lyrics say: “Would it help you remember? Would it all come back to you again, if we got in that truck right now and drove out to watch that made-you-smile sunset? The heart knows what’s hiding, even when the mind can’t find it.”
Jason Aldean recently lost his uncle to Lewy body dementia (LBD)—the second most common form of dementia following Alzheimer’s disease, the Mayo Clinic reports.
The progressive disease occurs when protein deposits known as Lewy bodies develop in nerve cells within the brain. People living with LBD typically display symptoms that are commonly associated with Parkinson’s disease, such as stiffness, trouble walking, and tremors.
Following the release of his song, the country star’s wife, Brittany Aldean, detailed her own father’s journey with dementia in a Nov. 9 Instagram video.
“The heartache that diseases like this bring to a family is something we know all too well,” the mother of two wrote alongside a montage of clips of her dad paired with her husband’s new single.
“We hope this song brings comfort to anyone going through something similar,” she added. “Love you so much, Daddy.”

‘Songs About Us’
Since emerging onto the country music scene in 2005 with his debut self-titled album, Jason Aldean has become a mainstay in the genre, selling more than 20 million albums worldwide to date.
Known for his stadium-rock country sound, some of the singer’s most popular songs include “She’s Country,” “Dirt Road Anthem,” and “You Make It Easy.” His politically charged 2023 anthem “Try That in a Small Town” was also a hit, reaching the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart after its debut.
However, Jason Aldean’s latest collection of songs is perhaps his most personal yet.
“It means a lot when I hear one of my songs has helped someone get through a tough time or helped them celebrate the best moments life has to offer. My new album celebrates all that: the highs, the lows, and all the moments in between,” the singer said in a Nov. 7 Instagram video.
“When I looked at all the tracks, it was obvious that this album was about all of us—for the blue collar workers, the high school sweethearts, the farmers spending days in the field, and the 9-to-5ers who live for the weekend,” he continued.
“From me to the fans, these are ‘Songs About Us.'”
