Trump: We’re Not Investing Any Money in Iran; Gas Drops Below $4 a Gallon | NTD Good Morning (June 16)

At the G7 summit in France on Tuesday, President Donald Trump dismissed claims of $300 billion in funds to rebuild Iran, saying the United States is “not investing any money in Iran.” The president denied the claim twice during a bilateral meeting with the Emir of Qatar. Trump also said that he is “not happy with the way Israel has handled themselves with Lebanon and with Hezbollah.” The president also said he wants to focus on Ukraine, meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the sidelines of the G7.

Gas prices fell below $4 a gallon on Sunday for the first time since mid-April. The drop comes as hopes for a possible end to the war in Iran improve market sentiment. Trump also said that the Strait of Hormuz will reopen without tolls, and that the U.S. blockade on Iran would be lifted. A formal signing ceremony is scheduled for Friday in Switzerland.
