Waltz Warns Nations Defying Iran Sanctions; Trump to Meet World Leaders at UN | NTD Good Morning (Sept. 21)

The United States is pushing for tougher international enforcement of sanctions against Iran, as UN Ambassador Mike Waltz says Washington is seeking global cooperation, while warning of possible escalation in the region. European and Asian partners have largely declined to join President Trump’s efforts in the Iran war. Waltz says the administration remains focused on preventing Iran from using its nuclear program as leverage.

Nearly 130 heads of state are meeting in New York for the United Nations General Assembly this week, as President Trump is expected to arrive for ‘political events’ at Trump Tower Monday evening. He will also be meeting with New York City Zohran Mamdani at Gracie Mansion, as well as French President Emmanuel Macron. He also has meetings scheduled with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who said in a social media post on Sunday that that the meeting could change a lot.

Denmark, Greenland and the United States are set to sign a new security agreement tomorrow. Copenhagen is saying it would put Arctic security under NATO’s watch. The agreement follows months of pressure from President Trump, who says Greenland is vital to U.S. security. The text of the deal has not yet been made public. President Trump says the deal gives the U.S. permanent control over Greenland’s security.
