Chinese Nationals Charged With Smuggling Pathogen Into US; Rubio Condemns Tiananmen Square Massacre | NTD Good Morning (June 4)

FBI Director Kash Patel sounded the alarm on Tuesday over concerns of a Chinese threat to America’s food supply. He said two Chinese nationals with ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) had been charged for smuggling what’s believed to be a dangerous pathogen into the United States. Authorities say the pathogen is considered a potential agro-terrorism weapon and has caused billions of dollars in economic damage worldwide every year. The Justice Department says it can also cause vomiting, liver damage, and reproductive defects in humans and livestock.

June 4 marks the anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Massacre, which followed weeks of student-led pro-democracy protests in Beijing in 1989. Secretary of State Marco Rubio referenced the events and condemned the CCP’s actions in a post on social media platform X. They moved in with tanks and armored vehicles and opened fire on crowds in a violent clampdown on large-scale pro-democracy demonstrations led by students and workers. NTD spoke with Dr. Sean Lin, who was in Tiananmen Square that night, to hear his account of the events.
