Twenty-four television shows made in New York have earned a total of 106 Emmy primetime nominations, including NBC’s longstanding “Saturday Night Live,” and comedy series “30 Rock,” and HBO’s new comedy series “Girls.”

Mayor Michael Bloomberg congratulated the productions, which have generated jobs for 130,000 New Yorkers.

“We’re especially proud of one of New York City’s funniest shows: ‘Saturday Night Live’ received 14 nominations this year and now holds the record for most nominations for a single program with 156 in total,” Bloomberg said in a statement.

“New York City is home to some of the most creative and talented people in the world; we really are a TV town,” said Katherine Oliver, media & entertainment commissioner, in a statement.

The Emmys will be presented on Sept. 23.
