NEW YORK—A woman was reportedly yelling before she flung herself into the East River around midnight on Saturday night.

She was standing at the edge of the north side pier of Williamsburg Park before she jumped.

Authorities arrived at the scene with a helicopter to search for her body.

“I heard talk from a rescue worker that she may have gotten swept out,” said Seth Hirsch, a bystander.

According to the New York Police Department’s Twitter account, her body was found before 1 a.m.
