Florida Holds Critical Primaries; US Not Seeking Extension of Iran Memorandum of Understanding | NTD Good Morning (Aug 18)
In Florida’s 25th district, Oliver Larkin, a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, is challenging two-term Democratic Representative Jared Moskowitz. That’s after Florida redrew its congressional map earlier this year. Florida voters are also voting in a gubernatorial primary, with Congressman Byron Donalds leading.
President Donald Trump is tightening the screws on Iran, declaring that the United States has complete control of the Strait of Hormuz as the 60-day memorandum of understanding expires. Trump says that the United States will not be seeking its extension, and that the U.S. naval blockade is continuing to put economic pressure on the Iranian regime.
Trump welcomed 16-year-old lifeguard Ryder Williams to the Oval Office on Aug. 17. Williams risked his life to save a 10-year-old boy while being repeatedly pounded by heavy waves. Trump said that the nation’s younger generation can look up to Williams for his professionalism, coolness, and grace.
