The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced on Dec. 15 that the FBI foiled a bomb plot planned for New Year’s Eve in the Los Angeles area. Officials say four people were arrested, ranging in age from 24 to 41. They are alleged to be members of the Turtle Island Liberation Front, which the DOJ describes as a pro-Palestinian, anti-government, and anti-capitalist group. Authorities say the suspects were plotting to use backpacks filled with improvised explosive devices that would detonate at at least five different locations in Los Angeles and Orange County.
