Trump Rolls Back Biden-Era Fuel Economy Rules; Afghan Man Arrested on Suspicion of Supporting ISIS | NTD Good Morning (Dec. 4)

President Donald Trump has rolled back Biden-era fuel-economy rules, saying the move will lower car prices and protect U.S. auto jobs. The White House says that the old standards were too costly and pushed electric vehicles on consumers. Officials say the change could cut car prices by about $1,000 and save Americans more than $100 billion.

ICE officers have arrested an Afghan man on suspicion of providing support to a regional branch of the ISIS terror group. He is the third Afghan national to be arrested in just over a week, raising questions about a Biden-era program for refugees after the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan in 2021.

Meanwhile, the Trump administration is expanding social media vetting for all H-1B visa applicants.

Trump said on Wednesday that land strikes on Venezuela will start very soon, and that these strikes will go beyond the pressure campaign on Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.

Trump also doubled down on his defense of the Sept. 2 strike in the Caribbean, saying that every boat that’s taken down saves 25,000 American lives. He says that drugs coming in through the sea are down by 91 percent since the strikes began.
