Reports: Man Detained in Guthrie Case Released; FAA Closes Airspace Around El Paso Airport | NTD Good Morning (Feb. 11)

Police on Feb. 10 questioned an individual in connection with the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie. Police did not say how the person is linked to the Guthrie case or disclose their identity. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department has not confirmed whether the person authorities detained during a traffic stop had been released. A deliveryman told a local news station that he was detained in connection with Guthrie’s case and was released several hours later.

The FAA announced that it’s closing U.S. airspace around El Paso, Texas, and grounding all flights to and from the airport for 10 days. In a notice posted on its website, the FAA said the restrictions were due to special security reasons. The agency did not give additional details. The FAA has asked travelers to contact their airlines to get the latest flight information.

A shooting at a school in British Columbia left at least seven people dead. Another two people were found dead at a nearby home, Canadian authorities said Feb. 10. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said more than 25 people were wounded. Authorities said the suspect appeared to have died of a “self-inflicted injury.” Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said in a post on social media that he was devastated by the shootings.
