Trump Declares State of the Union Strong; New Snow Threat Looms Over Northeast | NTD Good Morning (Feb. 25)
President Donald Trump’s 2026 State of the Union address, a long speech that lasted just under 1 hour and 48 minutes, highlighted some of the issues his administration has tackled, including illegal immigration, crime, election integrity, and affordability. He also used his State of the Union to present a series of major honors. Two military pilots received the Medal of Honor. Trump also awarded a Purple Heart to Andrew Wolfe, who was one of two National Guardsmen ambushed and shot in Washington last year. The other guardmember, Sarah Beckstrom, was shot in the same incident and later died from her injuries. Her family accepted the medal on her behalf.
Another winter storm is moving into the Northeast as cities dig out from a recent blizzard. Forecasters say it could bring a mix of snow and rain, and could affect travel and cleanup operations. In New York City, police released photos of suspects they say attacked officers with snowballs.
A new video from Savannah Guthrie, the daughter of missing 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, shows her offering a $1-million reward for information leading to her mother’s recovery. This is in addition to the FBI’s $100,000 reward. The investigation into her disappearance has yielded no arrests and no new leads on her whereabouts.
