Commerce officials say the deal follows a call the previous week between President Donald Trump and Chinese Communist Party leader Xi Jinping, and builds on the Geneva consensus.
A federal judge has refused to immediately grant California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s bid to block the deployment of federal troops to Los Angeles. Amid looting, the Los Angeles mayor declared a curfew for the downtown area, but the protests continued and the police made arrests. The FBI is now investigating who might be funding the unrest.
More than 100 children have been rescued in Texas following a massive month-long investigation targeting online child predators. The operation led to 244 arrests and involved more than 70 law enforcement agencies. Authorities said many of the victims had never been reported missing.
