Judge Lifts Block on Trump Admin Federal Buyout Plan; Tulsi Gabbard Sworn In as Intelligence Director | NTD Good Morning (Feb. 13)

A federal judge has lifted the block on the Trump administration’s federal buyout program. Federal workers will now be allowed to take the deal, with the Trump administration assuring them their salaries will be paid through the end of September. The White House says more than 70,000 federal workers have taken the buyout.

Former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard was confirmed and sworn in as director of national intelligence on Wednesday. She served in the House from 2013 to 2021 and currently holds the rank of lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves. NTD spoke with political analyst and NTD contributor Mike Leon about the bumpy road to her confirmation.

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced on Wednesday that the Department of Justice (DOJ) is suing the state of New York over its sanctuary city laws, which prevent law enforcement from arresting illegal immigrants. The DOJ has named several people in the lawsuit, such as New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, New York Attorney General Letitia James, and New York Department of Motor Vehicles Commissioner Mark Schroeder. The DOJ has filed a parallel lawsuit against the state of Illinois for similar sanctuary laws.
