Tom Homan Holds Press Conference in Minneapolis; Cold Snap Extends Freezing Weather Into Next Week | NTD Good Morning (Jan. 29)
White House border czar Tom Homan said during a Jan. 29 press conference in Minneapolis that he will remain in the city, leading immigration enforcement operations, “until the problem’s gone.” He said federal immigration authorities are working on a “drawdown plan” to reduce the presence of federal agents in the state. He also called for “hostile rhetoric” to stop.
The cold isn’t expected to let up anytime soon. The National Weather Service is warning of dangerously cold temperatures across the eastern United States on Jan. 29. Deep cold is forecast to stick around at least into the first week of February.
New York police have launched a hate crime investigation after arresting a man who allegedly crashed his vehicle into the Chabad Lubavitch world headquarters. No one was injured when the driver struck a door of a building before reversing and striking it several more times. The incident happened while people were gathered for prayer. It comes at a time of heightened concern within Jewish communities worldwide. Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said the bomb squad responded and conducted a full sweep of the vehicle. No explosive devices were found.
