Trump to Sign Order to Start Dismantling Education Dept; Pentagon Appeals Trans Military Ban Block | NTD Good Morning Full Broadcast (March 20)

President Donald Trump will sign an executive order on Thursday to officially commence the dismantling of the Department of Education. Entirely closing the department requires an act of Congress. However, the president will direct Secretary of Education Linda McMahon to take “all necessary steps to facilitate the closure of the Department of Education and return education authority to the states.”

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is fighting back after a judge blocked Trump’s order banning transgender troops. U.S. District Judge Ana Reyes ruled to keep the previous policy in place. The military plans to appeal, although advocates argue that transgender service members meet the required standards. Trump’s order maintains that transgender personnel undermine unit cohesion and military effectiveness.
